Start of a New Era
3 September 2016
Today marked the start of a new era for Rangers playing their home matches at Henhayes. The Reserves welcomed league new boys Lyme Regis Rovers in what was an entertaining match in the pouring rain, ending in a 4-4 draw.
Rangers came up against a very good Lyme side. We went 1-0 up through captain Michael Traynor. After falling behind we levelled at 2-2 via a diving header from Steve Dunkerton. We found ourselves 3-2 down at half time but we managed to pull it back to 3-3 with Traynor getting his 2nd. We then gained the advantage to go 4-3 up with Ian Bambury scoring. Despite some resolute defending we couldn't hold on, with Lyme grabbing a deserved late equaliser.
We hope for many more entertaining matches at Henhayes. The club would like to thank everyone who has helped us get to this stage, including Sarah and the staff at The George Reynolds Centre.
